JTA provides this service in addition to its regular bus service. Curb-to-curb service means the bus will not drive on to private property, but must stay on public streets and areas. Drivers are allowed only to assist persons on and off the vehicle. Reservations are required for “The Lift” and must be made with a 24 hour advance notice or by 3:30 p.m. the day before.
“The Lift” is a small bus with regular seats,
wheelchair stations, and a wheelchair lift. This bus is specifically designed to be mobile in residential areas so as to pick-up and drop-off passengers at their
residences with ease.

regular bus service due to mobility limitations. An
application that includes medical certification is required.
This application will take about three weeks to process. Eligibility criteria and applications are available at the JTA office: 241 East Deaderick Street, Jackson, or via mail by calling 423-0200 or 423-0209. JTA also provides TTY service at 423-0204.
